WEEKLY NEWS UPDATE

This week has been quite hectic, we have had 3 pinkie joey’s come into care , unfortunately as it often happens they did not make it. I am getting ready to release a mob of Eastern Greys in the next couple of days.

Two days ago I had a beautiful surprise, I was feeding and looked to see what was going on in the house yard.  there was Mel, a Pretty Face, that has been  released for about 2 years now, she wanted to come in.  Mel had a baby in her pouch but I never got to see it, I don’t think it would be furred yet, anyway, I let her in she was just as friendly as though it was only yesterday she first went. She stayed 2 days then wanted to go again, it was so good to see her she looked healthy and very well. I think she just wanted to let me know she had a baby.

I am bottle feeding at the moment,  Jacob, the redneck Wallaby, he is great, so much personality I will be so sad to see him go when he does.  He stays out most of the night now , only comes home for a bottle and a quick snooze then out again.

The next one is Amy, my beautiful Eastern Grey Kangaroo,  a   3kg bundle of joy, she is so settled and doing well loves playing with the other greys. I have had no problems with her at all, which is really great,  if you are to have problems it will nearly always be with an Eastern Grey.

We have also had a huge amount of birds coming in to care this week.

With the bad weather and winds I have a huge cleanup to do and mowing,  the rain has been so good for growing I am fortunate we have had just the right amount and no flooding. What I need is volunteers there seems so much work to do outside. Well till next time take care.
